Trip to DAMEN for training

In November 2023 sixteen representatives of Liamol and State Water Comite travelled to the Netherlands to visit the Damen Dredging yard for an elaborate two-week training program. The training program was focused on the technical and operational aspects of the Damen CSD350 and CSD500, covering a broad variety of topics to ensure knowledge transfer for safe and efficient technical and operational management. This was achieved by combining theoretical classroom training with practical on-board training on dredgers available at the Damen Dredging yard. The following topics were addressed;

• Dredge systems (ex. dredge pump and cutter unit)

• Hydraulic system

• Electrical and Automation

• Workshop dredge pump maintenance

• Engines

• Cooling water and fuel systems

• CSD operation, exercises on CSD Simulator

• In depth training at various partner supplier locations.

For an optimal learning experience, the training was partially conducted at the facilities of Damen's crucial suppliers and system experts. This strategic approach ensured a comprehensive understanding and enriched experience for all participants.
